Making your own e-liquid

May 13th, 2008

I have not seen these here. It sounds like the vapor is probably glycerin. It carries flavors pretty well and makes nice fluffy white clouds that are thick enough for smoke rings. You can make your own juice for this system with a little effort. For a test batch you can use ten grams of any tobacco you choose. Simmer with a cup of water on very low heat for 20 minutes. Strain liquid through coffee filter and reduce over very low heat until almost all water is gone. Remove from heat. Dilute tobacco essence to taste with pure, food grade glycerin and have yourself a “smokeless smoke.”

Njoy Tip – Needle Project

May 4th, 2008

You’ll need a new disposable hypodermic needle size of 25G x 5/8-0.5×16mm(means: 25 gauge and 5/8-0.5×16mm length)..should be brown/orange plastic connector….cut the plastic connector to 1/3rd with the needle intact….stick into a cartridge wool (full/half filled with liquid..mine works with Njoy..might work with other brands) in the centre and push all the way in till the needle stop..don’t puncture the cartridge..you’ll notice the wool will be pushed back and liquid will fill up but don’t worry if it also fill the cut end of the needle..you can top up later with e-liquids..now reinsert the cartridge with the modified needle into your atomizer..don’t worry, it won’t be burnt…start smoking…you’ll feel a sudden change in the flow of vapor..cooler to the tip of the tongue and far more dense….please try…you’ll like it…250 patients of mine love it..far superior but it can consume a bit more liquid..it is like dry smoking but with the cartridge inserted and if the ‘fuel’ gets low..jerk it like a pen running out of ink..you’ll get a instant refill automatically….I find it far better in burning up th e-liquid and producing better vapor….

Second tip…keep your container cap(mine is the Njoy type) and cap it over your mouthpiece tip when you are not using the device …use it like a pen cap (same principle to prevent your pen/marker from drying up)and you’ll be conserving moisture within the atomiser(save losses of liquids through the mouthpiece)..you’ll be surprised it actually help in producing your first billow of vapor….

njoy cig cleaning tip – alcohol

May 4th, 2008

From a e cig owner:
in Holland we use the following option (for the old model and not the mini)
take of the battery and cartridge so you only have the atomizer left
close the battery side with your thumb, and let a few drops of cleaning alcohol fall in to the atomizer, and close the cartridge side with your finger
now you should have an atomizer filled with alcohol, shake it a bit but do it gently.
now let the alcohol out thru the atomizer side.
repeat it till no more mess/junk is coming out
then blow thru the atomizer from the battery side
and then let it dry really good (one or two days).

[ad#ad-2468]

when it is dry put back a fully charged battery, put one drop off liquid directly on the atomizer .
carefully start smoking with short puffs but do not inhale, untill the smoke get`s less
then put in a cartridge and start smoking as you used to do, but keep in mind that if there`s still alcohol (you can taste it) in the atomizer that you dont inhale the smoke until the alcohol is fully gone

and when it worked out wright you can enjoy you’re almost brand new cigarette
and please use only cleaning alcohol (97% is the highest free available in our country) and not anything else

ecigarette Tip – Batteries – Misc

May 4th, 2008

Battery tips by other users:

(Oh btw, something I never do is blow through the battery from the back; hardly any use in my opinion, while you áre draining the battery badly and may be overheating the atomizer as well… dry smoking by putting on an empty mouthpiece, or if that doesn’t work even by sucking on the open tube where the mouthpiece is supposed to be, works better; at least in my opinion…)

[ad#ad-2468]

(And another btw: are you sure the problem isn’t that the batteries are too empty? Do you charge those batteries also áfter the light turns green? I never take my batteries out of the charger, in fact, unless I am using them, myself: I find that the drip-charging it does after the light is allready green really helps in getting the battery charged better.)

ecig unclogging tip – drip smoking

May 4th, 2008

A Users story:

Ever since I bought my first electric cigarette, about the beginning of September, I’ve run into problem after problem. It all started out

great, but about every second of third cartridge, the fun was over.

In those days (geez, that sounds like forty years ago writing it down like that) , very little was known about E-smoking in general,

directions for use were very insufficient if existing at all, service was nothing to write home about , and it was all a matter of mainly

trial and error.
Especially thinning the liquids in the cartridge with one drop of water seemed to help a bit, but only for the smoke, hardly for the taste

[ad#ad-2468]

(like smelling tea without sugar really).

Then one day, long story, I accidentally dropped my three E-Cigs in my crocheted plastic holder in a toilet at the swimming pool. These

cigarettes were actually hardly functioning at the time, but worthy enough to fish them out at once, unscrew the batteries and let them dry.
And – low and behold- the ALL functioned much, much better after this unexpected dive. The atomizers had all had a good rinse (and,

unfortunately, so did the batteries which were less enthusiastic about it), something I had never dared do before. BUT it worked, and from

then on, I started cleaning my atomizers under a running tap on a daily basis, and this helped – for about ONE cartridge or less each time.

To help them ‘come up’ sooner after their daily shower, I once tried to squeeze a drop of liquid directly on the atomizer after drying them.
WOW !!!! Now THAT was smoking ! THAT was inhaling ! THAT was feeling a touch – our should I say a BANG on the lungs !! I couldn’t believe what

had happened !! My Cigarettes FUNCTIONED !! They actually SMOKED !!

And since all three cigarettes were actually as good as dead at that time, I continued ‘dripping’ them , and I finally became a very very

content E-smoker.

About a month ago I completely stopped using cartridges, and only dry smoked of dripped instead.

And now : dripping for Dummies :

The liquid :
I use the bottles of liquid from E-Cig and liquid that I obtain from regular cartridges that I ’squeeze’ by pulling out the fiber, putting it

in an empty syringe, and squeeze the liquid in a bottle for ear- or nose drops (very cheap at the local drugstore).

The materials :
I use the E-Cig luxury bottle (which is no more than a regular perfume-sprayer) and nose-drop bottles with a pipet.

The amount :
In the classical pen-shaped model I use about 3 drops, on the mini I use only 1 drop, straight on the atomizer.

How to drip :
Pen shaped model :

- Remove the cartridge from the atomizer
- pull of the mouthpiece from a cartridge (throw away the white part, keep the black)
- take the bottle or pipet, and drip up to 3 drops STRAIGHT on the atomizer
- Put back the mouthpiece, and smoke away !!

e-cigarette unclogging tip – bathing

May 4th, 2008

‘bathing’ atomizers; and it can really help; but I have been changing my way of doing it a bit compared to the way I did it the first times.
What I do lately, if a bath is really neccessary (I try all else first, because I feel this bathing is a ‘last resort’ with also the risk of geting a real bad atomizer as a result) is:

[ad#ad-2468]

- just hold the atomizer under a running tap, with as warm as you can manage water (as your hands can manage; saying this because boiling water is something I wouldn’t dare doing; but it does need to be warm to take out the clogging-stuff); turn it around and upside down a few times to let the water run from different directions. But be careful not to dent the mesh-bridge or to shift any of the mesh elsewhere… best to try to not even touch any mesh, in fact
- when you think it must be clean, blow out the water with your mouth on the back of the atomizer (so where the battery goes)
- When you have gotten out as much as you can this way, I úsed to put it away to dry thouroughly (for at least a day). This is the part I have changed lately though, because I have the feeling that oxidation risk is high in the drying-time
- Now, I will just put the damp atomizer right back onto a battery; then I will put one or at most two drops of liquid onto the mesh-bridge, then put an empty mouthpiece on it, and then start to smoke it. This is a time of perseverance: it can take up to half an hour (worst-time I have had, mostly a lot shorter but this long is possible) before the atomizer finaly started to get warm and produce smoke again; but eventualy it always did, up to now <knocks>
- Once that happens, smoke until it hardly gives any smoke anymore (not until it gives no smoke, that is bad!); then put on a few drops of liquid, smoke that until smoke starts to become less, then put in a cartridge and all is well (I hope)
